Do not turn pages freely after the game begins. Instead, follow the navigation instructions that direct you to a specific page number (ex: “Open the door: 55”). If you jump from story to items/hints/code, you should bookmark your page as there might not be a way back
During the adventure, you will unlock items that represent important pieces of information to help you solve puzzles.
Locating an Item - These items are located at the back of the book, written in large font on the right-side pages with the items icon above.
Reference Table - You can also refer to the Items Table for a mapping of items to page numbers.
Used only Once - Clues and Items will only be used once. You can disregard them after they have been used for a puzzle. If a puzzle looks incomplete, you are likely missing information or items to solve it. Don’t hesitate to take another path and get back to it later.
Notes - You may want to photocopy the Items Table and unlocked items pages, for easier reference.
Puzzles are solved by finding a 3-digits code, a single word or a word combination.
Locating a Solution - Once you found the solution to a puzzle, navigate to the back of the book, looking for the code matching the solution, written in large font with a Key icon on the right-side pages.
Verifying a Solution - When you locate a code's page, check for the phrase "Continue if you come from page XX," where XX is the page number of the puzzle you are solving. If the page number matches the current puzzle’s page, you have found the correct solution. If not, return to your puzzle and try again.
Reference Table - You can refer to the Codes Table for a mapping of codes to page numbers. If your solution is not listed there, it is incorrect
Each puzzle has dedicated Hints pages to help if you get stuck. You can consume as many hints as you need, all the way to skipping the puzzle entirely. If you feel that a puzzle is too difficult, or the hints were not helpful don’t hesitate to share your Feedback.
